September 25 A huntress in the house - by gustinecat A huntress in the house
By: gustinecat
It was the 22nd of September 2007, I was thinking of the coming birthday of my cousin back home in Depok, Indonesia. So I started my usual day by doing ordinary work.
So, the time came for me to feed the pigeons on the roof of our appartment. Our now only cat, Dinicapon, followed me as she saw me with a pot in my hand. We reached the roof, I threw the birds' food with Dinicapon watching.
Then I saw Dinicapon moving with a sneaky motion as I was through with the feeding. I laughed watching her and I said in Creole language:"Alors, to pe appranne chassee couma ene pantere?" So, I left her on the roof and went down to the appartment for my next chore.
I collected newly washed clothings from the washing-machine to put to dry. As I climbed up the staircase, I noticed a lot of pigeon' feathers scattered about on the staircases. I asked myself where all these feathers came from. I continued climbing, then by the middle-landing of the staircases I spotted Dinicapon sitting on the pigeon with the head of the pigeon in her mouth....I yelled:"Wildan, come and see, quick! Come and see!!!" My son rushed out from the appartment,:"What happened?" So, he went up the stairs and then:"Yeeelk!" Bad Capon!!! He looked at me with this

Dinicapon said:" We came together!"
" We ate together and play together"
" I was never jealous because little master favors you!"
" You received all the pamperings more than I did."
"But you never seemed to be satisfied."
" You said we'd always be together"
" But where are you now."
" You've gone."
" I hate you, Imbecile!"
" Do you hear, Stella-Imbecile?"
September 04 Independence Days by gustinecat I was brought up in the family who many of them are or were serving the government .
I always look forward to Independence Day celebrations. they were always nice and fun. Time passed by so quickly, now that I am far
away from home.
It was on a bright day that I and my companion lifted up our luggages onto a taxi from the residence where I stayed in the eastern
part of Jakarta. My step-grandmother bade me goodbye saying "don't know when we will meet again" and all that 'take care of yourself' stuffs.
And my auntie and her children and my own grandmother already waiting at the airport to bid us "goodluck'. So, we took off.
Now here we are. No one that I knew. Made quite a lot of acquaintances. No representative of my country. Then something was worked out by someone. At last, a honorary consulate was established here where I am. Then I continued having Indepencence Day celebrations, until this year.
A call came from one of the Indonesian society members about a week before the D-Day. So, as it has always been, I got excited. My boyfriend came home and I told him. OK, he said
Well, I went out to buy all of those things with a kind of joy. Walking leisurely, greeted a neighbour, smiling ... then I crossed the street. On this side of the street, I spotted some dirt laying just on the outer side of the small draining canal, then as I jumped crossing this canal to land on the pavement side of the street, my right toe tipped the edge of the canal ....mama mia.... couln't believe that I missed the landing... I plunged onto the pavement, flat on my belly, kising it...... quite hard and quite painful.....! Bruised lips and knees... got my things and went back home.....Look at them children, staring at their mother with questioning look that I had to explain... they bursted in laughter
And yet, the following day, still we went to attend the celebrations and everyone's reactions were...." Goodness, what's happened to you... " stuffs. But everything went well, made new acquaintances had good Chinese food dinner.
Back home, thinking WHAT A DAY!!! |
